History of SWM Motorcycles

Some SWM Motorcycle Manuals PDF are above the page - RS500R, Grand Milano, Silver Vase, RS650R, Engine Workshop Manual.

SWM (Speedy Working Motors) - an Italian brand of motorcycles with a long history, which began in 1971. Unfortunately, 13 years later, in 1984, SWM went bankrupt, but after 30 years it suddenly reborn.

At the EICMA 2014 motor show, the Italian company introduced several new models and concepts. Production is scheduled to be launched in September 2015!

Ampelio Macchi is the main initiator of the revival of the brand SWM. In the past, he worked as an engineer at the companies Aprilia, Cagiva and Husqvarna, but decided to start his own business with the support of the Chinese manufacturer Shineray, which has a wide range of motorcycles: more than 100 motorcycles and ATVs.

Ampelio Macchi has developed several models, but the most beautiful, of course, is the Silver Vase scrambler, which is equipped with a 435-cc engine installed in a classic chassis.

The dry weight of the motorcycle is only 150 kg. Wheels: 19-inch front, 18-inch rear. Rubber: Metzeler Karoo 3.

SWM Gran Turismo Moto - naked with rubber Pirelli MT90

Gran Milano 440 Special is a retro classic with a single saddle and a long tail. 17-inch wheels, rubber Pirelli MT60 RS, weight 145 kg

All SWM motorcycles will be assembled at a factory in Lombardy and will be equipped with 6-st. gearboxes, injectors and electronic ignition.

According to some sources, the engine was developed on the basis of the power unit Husqvarna before the KTM era.

So, the scheme turns out the following.

The company Shineray provides the financial side of the project, and Macchi comes up with and develops products.
