Cotton have been producing motorcycles since 1919.
Cotton initially studied law, but after WWI decided to start manufacturing motors and motorcycles.
In 1922, the plant exhibited 3 motorcycles in the Junior TT race on the Isle of Man. Unknown then young Irishman Stanley Woods took an impressive fifth place, despite many failures during the race.
The following year, Woods raced again on a Cotton motorcycle, winning the first of ten victories in the Trophy Tourist. He was then only 19 years old, while the motorcycle was really cool for its time.
