History of Aermacchi Motorcycles

An AERMACCHI Classic Motorcycle PDF ManualAla Bianca, Ala Rossa, Ala Azzurra, Ala Verde, Wisconsin.

Since 1912, Giulio Macchi founded the company, which changed its name and products several times. From planes and outlandish three-wheeled trucks to motor vehicles.

Having lured experienced designers to itself, the company released several successful, bodyless motorcycles. Despite the rather small volume of the engine, the motorcycles turned out to be quite fast.

On account of which there are several registered speed records. A great success was brought by the release of special sports motorcycles for motocross with a volume of 500 cm3 and successful road builders with two-cylinder motors 250-350 cm3.

It is impossible not to mention the legend of that time, a bonded mixture of a motorcycle and a scooter called Chimera and a special model of a police motorcycle.

The Harley-Davidson company bought part of Aermacchi in 1972, and by 1978 complete production.

Then she switched to the production of military aircraft, and the remaining motorcycle production was sold to the young company Cagiva.
